Webb4 mars 2014 · I thought I’d take pictures along the way to share. Your blocks may look different but this is the basic method I use each time I am sewing blocks and even quilt tops together. Just adjust for your specific pattern. I do this before I press my seams for each row. A few things first: Starch, steam or sizing. For starch I use Niagara non-aerosol spray starch plus. It has a linen scent and starches a little more stiff than Best Press. I get the starch at the grocery store. Webb15 jan. 2024 · The experiment project was putting blocks together for a full sized quilt. I ended up with wave. I can't remember a quilt, big or small being wavy. I rechecked my blocks to make sure they were the right size. They were. The blocks fit together good, but I had this crazy wave. The only thing I could figure out to be the culprit was not using starch.
